We understand that elder care goes well beyond physical and medical considerations
and have established an integrated philosophy of care that guides everything we do.
Much of our philosophy is rooted in the Eden Alternative of care which aims to wipe out
the three plagues of the human spirit – loneliness, helplessness and boredom.
We have created an elder-centered community committed to producing a human habitat
where life revolves around continuing contact with plants, animals and children.
Loving relationships are built wherein elders can experience both a sense of connection
and a sense of purpose as they give care and attention to the life forms surrounding them.
Meaningful activities are a part of every day and we take every opportunity to fill daily
life with variety and spontaneity.
Creating this elder-centered community is a never ending process. We advocate a
culture change that shifts the philosophy of care from one of anti-aging to one of
developmental aging where graceful transitions are embraced and celebrated.
